January 31 – The Zenith American Solutions data breach lawyers at Console & Associates, P.C are investigating the data breach that was reported after the company was targeted in a recent cyber security attack. The Zenith American Solutions data breach resulted in unauthorized access to highly sensitive personal information, including names, dates of birth, Social Security numbers, birth certificates, marriage certificates, and financial information of certain individuals being compromised.
According to the filing with the Maine Attorney General’s office, Zenith American Solutions reported a data breach after they were targeted in an email phishing attack. The incident was discovered on September 6, 2024, when the company identified that an unauthorized party had gained access to an employee’s email account. In response, Zenith American Solutions secured the affected account, reset credentials, implemented additional security training, and engaged third-party cybersecurity experts to investigate the incident. Law enforcement was also notified of the breach.
The investigation revealed that while the unauthorized party had access to the employee’s email account, they were able to access folders containing confidential consumer information. On January 28, 2025, Zenith American Solutions sent out data breach letters to those individuals whose information was affected by the breach.
