April 7 – The WK Kellogg data breach lawyers at Console & Associates, P.C are investigating the data breach that was reported after the company was affected by a third-party cyber security incident. The WK Kellogg data breach resulted in the exposure of names and Social Security numbers of certain employees being compromised.
According to the Maine Attorney General’s filing, WK Kellogg reported a data breach after their technology vendor, Cleo, was targeted in a cyber security attack. On February 27, 2025, the company was informed that Cleo, which provides secure file transfer applications used by WK Kellogg, had experienced a security incident. Upon reaching out to Cleo, WK Kellogg learned that unauthorized access to certain Cleo servers had occurred on December 7, 2024.
Further investigation revealed that some of the affected servers contained files with confidential WK Kellogg employee information. After receiving a list of compromised files from Cleo, WK Kellogg conducted a review to identify the specific information exposed and which individuals were affected by the breach.
On April 4, 2025, WK Kellogg sent out data breach letters to those individuals whose information was affected by the breach, informing them about the nature of the incident and what specific personal information was compromised.
