What Happened?

According to the Attorney General of Maine, the Western Electrical Contractors Association data breach was reported after they were targeted in a recent cyber security attack. The company recently detected unusual activity within its computer network prompting WECA to launch an investigation. It was confirmed that an unauthorized party accessed the company’s network between January 21, 2024 and January 22, 2024. The Western Electrical Contractors Association reviewed the compromised files to determine what information was leaked and which consumers were impacted. On August 29, 2024, Western Electrical Contractors Association sent out data breach letters to those individuals whose information was affected by the breach.
