September 30 – The Wells Fargo data breach lawyers at Console & Associates, P.C are investigating the data breach that was reported after the company was targeted in a recent cyber security attack. The Wells Fargo data breach resulted in the names, Social Security numbers, addresses, dates of birth, phone numbers, email addresses, driver’s license numbers, bank account numbers, credit/debit card numbers, brokerage account numbers, and loan or line of credit numbers of certain individuals being compromised.
According to the Attorney General of Vermont, Wells Fargo reported a data breach after they were targeted in a recent cyber security attack. The company learned that a former employee accessed and, in some cases, used customer information for fraudulent purposes prompting Wells Fargo to launch an investigation. In July 2024, it was confirmed that the former employee accessed confidential information belonging to individuals between May 2022 and March 2023. Wells Fargo reviewed the compromised files to determine what information was leaked and which consumers were impacted. Wells Fargo sent out data breach letters to those individuals whose information was affected by the breach.
