November 25 – The Visiting Physician Services (“VPS of MI, Inc.”) data breach lawyers at Console & Associates, P.C are investigating the data breach that was reported after the company was targeted in a recent cyber security attack. The Visiting Physician Services data breach resulted in the names, Social Security numbers, driver’s license numbers, medical information, and health insurance information of certain individuals being compromised. It is believed to have impacted as many as 20,604 individuals.

According to official filings with the Vermont Attorney General’s office, VPS of MI discovered suspicious network activity on June 4, 2024. Their investigation confirmed that malicious actors had infected their systems with malware and exfiltrated sensitive data. After a thorough review of the compromised files, VPS of MI determined the scope of affected individuals and compromised information. On November 15, 2024, VPS of MI began notifying impacted individuals through data breach letters detailing the specific information that was exposed in the incident. The company also filed a report with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Office for Civil Rights documenting the scope of the breach.
