October 3 – The Classic Residence Management Limited Partnership d/b/a Vi Living (“Vi”) data breach lawyers at Console & Associates, P.C are investigating the data breach that was reported after the company was targeted in a recent cyber security attack. The Vi Living data breach resulted in the names and Social Security numbers of certain individuals being compromised. It is believed to have impacted as many as 61,425 individuals.
According to the Attorney General of Maine, Vi Living reported a data breach after they were targeted in a recent cyber security attack. On March 13, 2023, Vi learned that an unauthorized party had gained access to the company’s corporate office network and data server. The company took the affected systems offline, reported the incident to law enforcement, and then began working with an IT forensics firm to investigate the incident. The Vi investigation confirmed that an unauthorized party had accessed certain files on the company’s network containing confidential consumer information. On September 29, 2023, Vi Living sent out data breach letters to those individuals whose information was affected by the breach.
