October 16 – The Varsity Brands data breach lawyers at Console & Associates, P.C are investigating the data breach that was reported after the company was targeted in a recent cyber security attack. The Varsity Brands data breach resulted in the names, Social Security numbers, dates of birth, financial information, and employee ID numbers of certain individuals being compromised. It is believed to have impacted as many as 65,669 individuals.
According to the Attorney General of Maine, Varsity Brands reported a data breach after detecting suspicious activity within its computer network on May 24, 2024. The company secured its systems, took them offline, and launched an investigation with the assistance of third-party cybersecurity experts. Varsity Brands also alerted law enforcement about the incident.
The investigation confirmed that an unauthorized actor gained access to parts of Varsity Brands’ network containing confidential consumer information on May 24, 2024. On October 14, 2024, Varsity Brands began sending out data breach notification letters to all individuals whose information was affected.
