The investigation, which concluded on December 5, 2024, confirmed that an unauthorized party had accessed and potentially acquired files containing confidential consumer information. Following a comprehensive review process completed on January 14, 2025, Universal Lenders identified all affected individuals.

On January 21, 2025, Universal Lenders sent out personalized data breach letters to all individuals whose information was compromised in the incident.
