According to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Office for Civil Rights, the Facial Pain Center data breach was reported after they were targeted in a recent cyber security attack. On January 23, 2024, the company detected suspicious activity within several employee email accounts prompting FPC to secure the affected accounts and launch an investigation. It was confirmed that an unauthorized party accessed several employee email accounts between January 11, 2024 and January 23, 2024 with each affected email account containing sensitive consumer information. The Facial Pain Center reviewed the compromised files to determine what information was leaked and which consumers were impacted. The Facial Pain Center sent out data breach letters to those individuals whose information was affected by the breach.
