September 25 – The (Sovos Compliance + any acronym [Sovos Compliance aka “XYZ”]) data breach lawyers at Console & Associates, P.C are investigating the data breach that was reported after the company was targeted in a recent cyber security attack. The Sovos Compliance data breach resulted in the names and Social Security numbers of certain individuals being compromised. It is believed to have impacted as many as 181,000 individuals.
According to the Attorney General of Maine, Sovos Compliance reported a data breach after they were targeted in a recent cyber security attack. The incident involved Sovos’ use of MOVEit file-transfer software created by Progress Software that Sovos uses throughout the normal course of business. However, on May 31, 2023, Sovos learned that MOVEit contained a critical vulnerability that allowed hackers to gain access to confidential information stored in Sovos’ MOVEit environment. And because Sovos is a vendor to other companies, Sovos accepts confidential consumer information from the other entities it does business with. Bangor Savings Bank
