According to the Attorney General of California, the Slim CD data breach was reported after they were targeted in a recent cyber security attack. On June 15, 2024, the company identified suspicious activity within its computer network prompting Slim CD to secure its systems and launch an investigation. It was confirmed that an unauthorized party accessed its IT network between August 17, 2023, and June 15, 2024 and viewed cardholders’ information. Slim CD reviewed the compromised files to determine what information was leaked and which consumers were impacted. On September 4, 2024, Slim CD sent out data breach letters to those individuals whose information was affected by the breach.
Slim CD, Inc. is a payment processing company based out of Coral Springs, Florida that allows merchants to accept electronic payments through its own software. The company also creates custom shopping carts, invoicing programs, and payment portals.
