On August 12, 2024, the IT team at Seven Counties Services discovered an email phishing attack that had targeted the organization. The attackers crafted deceptive emails that appeared to originate from a reliable source, tricking unsuspecting employees into engaging with the malicious messages. By interacting with these fraudulent emails, staff members inadvertently granted the unauthorized party access to their accounts, potentially exposing any sensitive information stored within. On October 3, 2024, Seven Counties Services sent out data breach letters to those individuals whose information was affected by the breach.
