According to the Attorney General of Montana, the Rödl & Partner data breach was reported after they were targeted in a recent cyber security attack. On February 9, 2024, the company determined that there was suspicious activity on its computer network prompting Rödl to secure its systems and launch an investigation. It was confirmed that an unauthorized party accessed its computer network between January 30th, 2024, and February 9th and accessed consumer information, including data belonging to clients of Jamestown, L.P. and JT Tax Services. Rödl & Partner reviewed the compromised files to determine what information was leaked and which consumers were impacted. On August 12, 2024, Rödl & Partner sent out data breach letters to those individuals whose information was affected by the breach.
