November 15 – The RBN and Associates, Inc. d/b/a RBN Insurance Services (“RBN”) data breach lawyers at Console & Associates, P.C are investigating the data breach that was reported after the company was targeted in a recent cyber security attack. The RBN Insurance Services data breach resulted in the names, Social Security numbers, addresses, dates of birth, financial information, medical information, life insurance information, and health insurance information of certain individuals being compromised. It is believed to have impacted as many as 10,205 individuals.
According to documentation filed with the Maine Attorney General’s Office, RBN Insurance Services discovered unauthorized activity within an employee’s email account on May 15, 2024. The investigation revealed that between March 5, 2024, and May 15, 2024, an unauthorized party had gained access to a single employee’s email account containing confidential consumer information. Following a comprehensive review completed on September 12, 2024, RBN determined the full scope of compromised data and began preparing notifications to affected individuals. On November 14, 2024, RBN Insurance Services began distributing data breach letters to all impacted parties, detailing the specific information that may have been compromised in their individual cases.
