July 29 – The data breach lawyers at Console & Associates, P.C. are investigating the Qualtrics data breach that was reported after the company was targeted in a recent cyber security attack that affected Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Carolina. The Qualtrics data breach resulted in the below information of certain individuals being compromised:

  • names,
  • email addresses,
  • demographic information,
  • and health insurance information

What Happened?

According to the Attorney General of Montana, the Qualtrics data breach was reported after they were targeted in a recent cyber security attack. On May 7, 2024, the company determined that an unauthorized party used compromised credentials to access the Qualtrics customer account for Blue Cross North Carolina prompting Qualtrics to secure its systems and launch an investigation. The investigation confirmed that an unauthorized party accessed information containing confidential information belonging to certain Blue Cross NC customers. On July 19, 2024, Qualtrics sent out data breach letters to those individuals whose information was affected by the breach.
