According to the Attorney General of California, the Prestige Care data breach was reported after they were targeted in a recent cyber security attack. On September 7, 2023, the company detected suspicious activity within its computer network prompting them to launch an investigation. It was confirmed that its IT system had been infected with malware preventing them from accessing some of the files on its network. Prestige Care also learned that an unauthorized party was able to access files containing confidential resident information on September 7, 2023. On January 31, 2024, Prestige Care sent out data breach letters to those individuals whose information was affected by the breach.
Prestige Care, Inc. is a senior care organization based out of Vancouver, Washington that operates nearly 80 senior care facilities 
throughout the western United States. The company offers a range of care options based on residents’ needs, including independent living, assisted living, memory care and skilled nursing.
