August 7 – The data breach lawyers at Console & Associates, P.C. are investigating the OneBlood data breach after the company experienced a ransomware event. The company has not yet confirmed if consumer information was compromised.

What Happened?

Although the company is still investigating, they confirmed that on July 29, 2024, OneBlood experienced a ransomware attack. The comapny switched over to a manual system so that it could continue to operate. The company’s senior vice president of corporate communications and public relations explained that “The priority was to bring the software system used to manage the blood supply back online.” OneBlood is working with cybersecurity specialists to investigate the incident and determine if any information was compromised and which consumers may have been impacted.
