The Octagon data breach resulted in the unauthorized access of consumers’ names, Social Security numbers, driver’s license numbers, and financial account information being compromised.

According to the Massachusetts Attorney General’s office, Octagon reported a data breach after experiencing a cybersecurity incident that compromised sensitive consumer information. The exact nature of the incident remains unclear, as it could have resulted from either a direct attack on Octagon’s systems or a breach at one of their third-party vendors or partners.

On December 31, 2024, Octagon sent out data breach letters to those individuals whose information was affected by the breach. The company is offering affected individuals complimentary credit monitoring services for two years.
