Numotion Data Breach Investigation

March 11 – The Numotion data breach lawyers at Console & Associates, P.C are investigating the data breach that was reported after the company was targeted in a recent cyber security attack. The Numotion data breach resulted in the exposure of names, Social Security numbers, driver’s license numbers, dates of birth, product information, payment and financial account information, health insurance information, and medical information of certain individuals being compromised.

What Happened As A Result Of The Numotion Data Breach?

According to the Vermont Attorney General’s website, Numotion reported a data breach after they were targeted in a recent cyber security attack that compromised multiple employee email accounts.

The security breach involved unauthorized access to several employee email accounts over an extended period spanning more than two months. According to the investigation findings, the unauthorized access occurred between September 2, 2024, and November 18, 2024, giving malicious actors time to potentially review and extract sensitive information contained within these accounts.

Upon discovering the security incident, Numotion initiated an investigation to determine the scope of the breach and identify which specific individuals may have had their information compromised. The company’s review focused on examining the content of the affected email accounts to inventory what information was potentially accessible to the unauthorized party.

The investigation revealed that various categories of sensitive information were contained in the compromised email accounts, though the specific data exposed varies by individual. On March 7, 2025, Numotion sent out data breach letters to those individuals whose information was affected by the breach. These notifications provided details about the specific categories of personal information that may have been exposed during the incident and included recommendations for protective measures.
