What Happened?

According to the Attorney General of Maine, the Nations Direct Mortgage data breach was reported after they were targeted in a recent cyber security attack. On December 30, 2023, the company learned that an unauthorized party may have gained access to its IT network. Nations Direct contained the incident and launched an investigation. It was confirmed that its computer system was subject to unauthorized access and that the unauthorized party was able to access certain files containing confidential consumer information. On February 28, 2024, Nations Direct Mortgage sent out data breach letters to those individuals whose information was affected by the breach.
