October 29 – The Mystic Valley Elder Services data breach lawyers at Console & Associates, P.C are investigating the data breach that was reported after the company was targeted in a recent cyber security attack. The Mystic Valley Elder Services data breach resulted in the names, dates of birth, passport numbers, financial account numbers, payment card numbers, online credentials, Social Security numbers, driver’s license numbers, health insurance information, and medical information of certain individuals being compromised. It is believed to have impacted as many as 87,236 individuals.

What Happened As A Result Of The Mystic Valley Elder Services Data Breach?

According to the filing with the Maine Attorney General’s office, Mystic Valley Elder Services discovered unauthorized access to their computer network on April 5, 2024. The company took immediate action by containing the incident and engaging law enforcement, while launching an investigation with external cybersecurity experts. The investigation confirmed that an unauthorized party had accessed systems containing confidential information on April 5, 2024. Following a thorough review completed on July 11, 2024, MVES identified all affected individuals and the scope of compromised data. Data breach notification letters were sent out by Mystic Valley Elder Services on October 22, 2024, informing all 87,236 affected individuals about the nature of their compromised information and recommended security measures.
