October 23 – The MML Investors Services LLC (“MMLIS”), a subsidiary of MassMutual data breach lawyers at Console & Associates, P.C are investigating the data breach that was reported after National Financial Services LLC (NFS) detected unauthorized access to their computer network. The MML Investors Services data breach resulted in sensitive client information being compromised. According to the Massachusetts Attorney General’s office, the data breach occurred through a sophisticated attack involving newly opened Fidelity brokerage accounts. The unauthorized access took place over a three-day period, from August 17 to August 19, 2024. NFS, which provides clearing and execution services for MMLIS brokerage accounts, discovered and terminated the unauthorized access on August 19, 2024. Following the discovery of the breach, National Financial Services launched an investigation with assistance from external cybersecurity experts and confirmed that unauthorized parties had successfully accessed and obtained MMLIS client information stored on NFS systems. National Financial Services has begun sending out data breach notification letters to affected individuals, detailing the specific information that was compromised in their particular case.
