October 15 – The miCare Health Center data breach lawyers at Console & Associates, P.C are investigating the data breach that was reported after the company discovered unauthorized access to certain employee email accounts. The miCare Health Center data breach resulted in the names, dates of birth, medical information, health insurance information, and Social Security Numbers of certain individuals being compromised. The number of affected individuals has not been disclosed.
According to miCare’s filing with the Attorney General of California, miCare Health Center reported a data breach after they detected a potential data security incident on May 22, 2024 involving unauthorized access to certain employee email accounts. The investigation determined that there was unauthorized access to multiple company email accounts between April 19, 2024 and May 25, 2024, with some of the emails and attachments containing confidential patient information. On October 11, 2024, miCare Health Center sent out data breach notification letters to all individuals whose information was affected by the email account compromise.
