According to a notice posted on their website, the McLaren Health Care data breach was announced after they were targeted in a recent cyber security attack. On August 6, 2024, the company began experiencing issues with its IT network prompting McLaren to focus on bringing its systems back online with the efforts being ongoing. The company launched an investigation that is still ongoing. McLaren hasn’t confirmed the nature of the attack but there is speculation it may have been a ransomware attack. McLaren Health Care will need to send out data breach letters if they are able to confirm the breach.
