November 27 – The Maternal Fetal Medicine Associates PLLC, Carnegie Hill Imaging for Women, and Carnegie Women’s Health (“collectively, “the Practices”) data breach lawyers at Console & Associates, P.C are investigating the data breach that was reported after the company was targeted in a recent cyber security attack. The breach resulted in unauthorized access to sensitive patient information, including names, addresses, dates of birth, driver’s license numbers, Social Security numbers, financial information, and medical records.
According to website notices posted by each entity, Maternal Fetal Medicine Associates PLLC, Carnegie Hill Imaging for Women, and Carnegie Women’s Health detected suspicious activity within their computer networks on September 16, 2024. A subsequent investigation revealed unauthorized access to their systems between July 30, 2024 and September 16, 2024. During this period, an unauthorized party accessed and extracted files containing sensitive patient information without permission. On November 15, 2024, the Practices formally reported the incident to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Office for Civil Rights and will begin the process of notifying affected individuals through data breach letters once they complete their investigation.
