February 3 – The Lucent Health data breach lawyers at Console & Associates, P.C are investigating the data breach that was reported after the company was targeted in a recent cyber security attack. The Lucent Health data breach resulted in the exposure of sensitive personal information, including names, Social Security numbers, dates of birth, and health insurance, dental insurance, and/or vision insurance policy information of certain individuals being compromised.
According to the filing with the California Attorney General’s office, Lucent Health reported a data breach after they were targeted in a phishing attack. The incident occurred on October 2, 2023, when a Lucent Health manager in California opened a phishing email that appeared to be from a trusted source. The company’s IT team identified and responded to the suspicious activity, successfully eliminating the unauthorized access within 90 minutes.
Following the incident, Lucent Health engaged external cybersecurity experts to conduct a thorough investigation. The investigation revealed that during the brief window of access, an unauthorized party was able to access certain files containing confidential consumer information.
On January 30, 2025, Lucent Health sent out data breach letters to those individuals whose information was affected by the breach. Each notification letter includes specific details about what personal information was compromised for that individual.
