March 3 – The Legacy Professionals data breach lawyers at Console & Associates, P.C. are investigating the data breach that was reported after the Legacy Professionals was targeted in a recent cyber security attack. The Legacy Professionals data breach resulted in the names and Social Security numbers of certain individuals being compromised.
According to the Attorney General of Maine, Legacy Professionals reported a data breach after they were targeted in a recent cyber security attack. In April 2024, Legacy Professionals detected suspicious activity within its computer network. Acting quickly, the company secured its systems and enlisted third-party cybersecurity experts to conduct an investigation. By November 2024, the investigation confirmed that an unauthorized party had removed certain files, some of which contained confidential consumer information.
Recognizing the potential risks, Legacy Professionals undertook a thorough review of the compromised files to assess the scope of the breach and identify affected consumers. This process was completed in early February 2025.
On February 27, 2025, Legacy Professionals sent out data breach letters to those individuals whose information was affected by the breach.
