KeyBank Data Breach Investigation

February 12 – The KeyBank data breach lawyers at Console & Associates, P.C are investigating the data breach that was reported after the company’s third-party vendor, Wong Fleming, P.C., was targeted in a recent cyber security attack. The KeyBank data breach resulted in unauthorized access to sensitive customer information, including names, addresses, birthdates, Social Security numbers, phone numbers, email addresses, driver’s license numbers, and account numbers of certain individuals being compromised.

What Happened As A Result Of The KeyBank Data Breach?

According to the filing with the Massachusetts Attorney General’s office, KeyBank reported a data breach after their vendor, Wong Fleming, P.C., experienced unauthorized remote access to their network. On January 16, 2025, Wong Fleming, which provides asset recovery services for KeyBank, discovered and reported the security incident. While KeyBank’s systems were not directly affected, the breach at Wong Fleming exposed files containing confidential KeyBank customer information.

On February 11, 2025, KeyBank sent out data breach letters to those individuals whose information was affected by the breach. These notifications detail the specific types of personal information that may have been compromised in each case.
