January 27 – The data breach lawyers at Console & Associates, P.C are investigating the Kahua data breach that was reported after the company was targeted in a recent cyber security attack. The Kahua data breach resulted in the sensitive information of certain individuals being compromised.

What Happened?

According to the Attorney General of Vermont, the Kahua data breach was reported after they were targeted in a recent ransomware attack. On November 13, 2023, Kahua received a ransomware note in an email noting that the company’s IT systems were not encrypted. Kahua launched an investigation that determined that an unauthorized party was able to access the company’s computer network between October 25, 2023 and November 13, 2023. It was also confirmed that some of the files that were accessible to the unauthorized party contained confidential consumer information. On December 15, 2023, Kahua sent out data breach letters to those individuals whose information was affected by the breach.
