September 8 – The Johnson & Wales University (“JWU”) data breach lawyers at Console & Associates, P.C. are investigating the data breach that was reported after the Johnson & Wales University was targeted in a recent cyber security attack. The Johnson & Wales University data breach compromised the names, Social Security numbers, and financial account details of certain individuals.

What Happened As A Result Of The Johnson & Wales University Data Breach?

According to the Maine Attorney General, Johnson & Wales University detected suspicious activity on July 11, 2024, and launched an investigation with incident-response experts.

On August 21, 2024, the investigation revealed that an unauthorized party had accessed portions of JWU’s IT network, exposing sensitive data. The compromised information may include names, Social Security numbers, and financial account details.

JWU sent out data breach letters to impacted individuals on September 19, 2024,  notifying them of the information that was compromised.
