HealthEquity Data Breach Investigation

January 30 – The HealthEquity data breach lawyers at Console & Associates, P.C are investigating the data breach that was reported after the company was targeted in a recent cyber security attack. The HealthEquity data breach resulted in unauthorized access to consumers’ names and protected health information, including claims information associated with affected accounts.

What Happened As A Result Of The HealthEquity Data Breach?

According to the filing with the Massachusetts Attorney General’s office, HealthEquity reported a data breach after detecting suspicious activity within certain customer accounts. The investigation revealed that malicious actors had obtained sufficient personal information to bypass the identity verification process and gain unauthorized access to these accounts. Importantly, the investigation confirmed that the unauthorized party did not obtain this information directly from HealthEquity’s systems.
