According to a notice posted on their website, the Health Alliance data breach was reported after they were targeted in a recent cyber security attack. On October 12, 2023, the company experienced a network disruption impacting some of the company’s computer systems prompting them to secure their systems and launch an investigation. It was confirmed that an unauthorized party was able to gain access to portions of the organization’s IT network between August 18, 2023 and October 13, 2023. While in the Health Alliance network, the unauthorized part accessed and acquired files containing confidential patient information. On December 11, 2023, Health Alliance sent out data breach letters to those individuals whose information was affected by the breach.
HealthAlliance, Inc. is an insurance company based out of Champaign, Illinois that offers a range of health insurance options, including Medicare plans, individual plans, and employer/group plans. 
HealthAlliance provides health insurance coverage to more than 234,000 individuals. HealthAlliance is a part of Carle Health, a large healthcare services company based in Urbana, Illinois.
