What Happened?

According to a TechCrunch article, Halliburton is still in the process of investigating a potential data breach. Halliburton learned about the incident occurring on August 21, 2024, according to available sources. This is when they determined there was an unauthorized party who gained access to their systems. They sought help from cybersecurity experts to help with a company investigation. Then Halliburton took some of its systems offline and reported the incident to law enforcement. Halliburton is now actively working on bringing their systems back online. If Halliburton determines that their confidential information has been subject to unauthorized access, they will have to send out data breach letters to those individuals whose information was affected by the breach.
