February 3 – The Globe Life data breach lawyers at Console & Associates, P.C are investigating the data breach that was reported after the company was targeted in a recent cyber security attack. The Globe Life data breach resulted in the exposure of sensitive personal information, including names, Social Security numbers, email addresses, phone numbers, postal addresses, dates of birth, health information, and insurance information of certain individuals being compromised. It is believed to have impacted as many as 850,000 individuals.
According to the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) filing, Globe Life reported a data breach following the discovery of unauthorized access to their IT network on June 13, 2024. Initially, in October 2024, the company estimated that approximately 5,000 individuals were affected by the security incident. However, a subsequent investigation revealed a much broader impact.
On January 30, 2025, Globe Life filed an updated notice with the SEC, dramatically increasing the number of potentially affected individuals to 850,000. This expansion in scope was attributed to the discovery that hackers had accessed additional databases maintained by independent insurance agency owners.
Globe Life has initiated the process of sending out data breach notification letters to inform all individuals whose information was compromised in this security incident.
