October 10 – The Fidelity Investments data breach lawyers at Console & Associates, P.C are investigating the data breach that was reported after the company was targeted in a recent cyber security attack. The Fidelity Investments data breach resulted in the sensitive information of certain individuals being compromised.
According to the notice filed with the Maine Attorney General, Fidelity Investments reported a data breach after they discovered unauthorized access to customer information. On August 19, 2024, Fidelity learned that an unauthorized party was able to access and obtain certain information using two recently established customer accounts. Fidelity terminated the unauthorized access and launched an investigation that confirmed that the unauthorized party gained access to confidential customer data. On October 9, 2024, Fidelity Investments began sending out data breach notification letters to all individuals whose information was impacted by the security incident.
