November 22 – The Farmers Insurance data breach lawyers at Console & Associates, P.C are investigating the data breach that was reported after the company was affected by a recent cyber security attack at Infosys McCamish Systems. The Farmers Insurance data breach resulted in the sensitive information of certain Farmers Insurance life insurance and annuity customers being compromised. It is believed to have impacted as many as 25,867 customers.
According to the Maine Attorney General’s Office, Infosys discovered unauthorized access to their systems between October 29 and November 2, 2023. The hackers deployed ransomware and successfully accessed files containing confidential Farmers Insurance customer data. IMS detected the breach on November 3, 2023, and promptly initiated an investigation with cybersecurity experts and law enforcement. After a thorough investigation, Infosys notified Farmers Insurance of the incident on May 28, 2024. On November 15, 2024, affected individuals began receiving data breach notification letters detailing the specific personal information that was compromised.
