What Happened?

According to a notice posted on their website, the EquiLend data breach was reported after they were targeted in a recent cyber security attack. On January 22, 2024, EquiLend identified a “technical issue,” prompting the company to take systems offline and launch an investigation. It was confirmed that EquiLend had experienced a “cyber security issue” that involved an unauthorized actor gaining access to the company’s computer systems. If EquiLend is able to confirm that sensitive information was compromised, they will be required to send out data breach letters to those individuals whose information was affected by the breach.
