According to the Attorney General of Massachusetts, the Encore Bank data breach was reported after they were targeted in a recent cyber security attack. The bank recently learned that an unauthorized party had gained access to its computer network on September 13, 2023. This prompted them to secure its email environment and launch an investigation. It was confirmed that the unauthorized party accessed emails and attachments containing confidential consumer information. On January 31, 2024, Encore Bank sent out data breach letters to those individuals whose information was affected by the breach.

including individual and business accounts, loans, and credit cards, as well as investment and insurance products. Encore Bank operates roughly 20 locations in Colorado, Texas, Arkansas, Missouri, Tennessee, North Carolina, and South Carolina.
