According to the Attorney General of Maine, the Emmanuel College data breach was reported after they were targeted in a recent cyber security attack. The College recently experienced a security incident prompting them to contain the threat and launch an investigation. It was confirmed that an unauthorized party was able to access portions of the school’s computer network. Emmanuel College also determined that the unauthorized party removed certain files containing confidential personal information belonging to current and former students and faculty. On January 31, 2024, Emmanuel College sent out data breach letters to those individuals whose information was affected by the breach.
Emmanuel College is a private Roman Catholic college located in Boston, Massachusetts that offers 70 majors, minors, and concentrations through six schools: the School of Humanities & Social 
Sciences, the School of Science & Health, the School of Business & Management, the School of Education, and the School of Nursing.
