The CPS Solutions data breach resulted in the unauthorized access of names, Social Security numbers, dates of birth, health insurance information, and medical information of certain individuals being compromised. It is believed to have impacted an undetermined number of individuals, as the company initially reported only “500” victims as a placeholder figure.
According to the website notice posted by CPS Solutions, the company reported a data breach after they were targeted in a recent email account compromise attack. The unauthorized access occurred between December 2, 2024, and December 4, 2024, when an unknown party gained access to a CPS Solutions employee’s email account. An investigation was launched that confirmed that an unauthorized party accessed and removed confidential patient data from the employee’s email account
On February 2025, CPS Solutions sent out data breach letters to those individuals whose information was affected by the breach. The impact extends to patients of multiple healthcare providers that use CPS Solutions’ services, including Dayton Children’s Hospital, Beacon Health – Three Rivers Hospital, and Hillsdale Hospital.
