According to the filing with the Massachusetts Attorney General’s office, Community Alliance reported a data breach after they were targeted in a recent cybersecurity attack. The breach was discovered on April 8, 2024, when suspicious activity was detected within their computer environment. In response, Community Alliance launched an investigation with third-party cybersecurity specialists to determine the scope and impact of the incident.The investigation revealed that unauthorized actors gained access to the organization’s computer systems between April 2, 2024, and April 8, 2024. Community Alliance sent out data breach letters to those individuals whose information was affected by the breach.
