October 18 – The Birth Choice of San Marcos (“BirthChoice”) data breach lawyers at Console & Associates, P.C are investigating the data breach that was reported after the company was targeted in a recent cyber security attack. The Birth Choice of San Marcos occurred due to a cyberattack on one of BCSM’s vendors, National Diagnostic Imaging (NDI), which compromised sensitive information belonging to certain individuals. This breach is believed to have exposed personal details, including names, dates of birth, last menstrual period (LMP), clinical information, and biometric data used in radiology diagnostics.
According to the California Attorney General’s website, Birth Choice of San Marcos was impacted by a data breach after their vendor, National Diagnostic Imaging, suffered a cybersecurity attack. The breach occurred between February 19, 2024, and March 27, 2024, when an unauthorized party gained access to NDI’s network. However, Birth Choice was not informed of the breach until August 19, 2024. After an investigation confirmed the extent of the compromised data, Birth Choice of San Marcos sent out data breach notification letters to affected individuals on October 16, 2024.
