July 15 – The data breach lawyers at Console & Associates, P.C. are investigating the American Golf data breach that was announced after the company was targeted in a recent cyber security attack. The American Golf data breach may have resulted in the sensitive information of certain individuals being compromised.

What Happened?

According to an article from the Cyber Express, the American Golf data breach was announced after they were targeted in a recent ransomware attack. Hackers claimed to have obtained nearly 155 GB of data from the company’s computer network. The hackers claimed to have obtained email correspondence, members’ data, orders, full access account credentials (User ID, Passwords, Secret Keys), reports, licenses, passports, and financial data. At this time, the hackers have given American Golf eight days to pay a $2 million ransom; otherwise, they plan to release the data. For every day that passes, the ransom payment will increase by $100,000. American Golf will need to send out data breach letters to those individuals whose information was affected by the breach if they are able to confirm it.
