September 3 – The data breach lawyers at Console & Associates, P.C. are investigating the Ally Bank data breach that was reported after the company was targeted in a recent cyber security attack. The Ally Bank data breach resulted in the below information of certain individuals being compromised:

What Happened?

According to the Attorney General of Massachusetts, the Ally Bank data breach was reported after they were targeted in a recent cyber security attack. On April 23, 2024, the bank determined that an unauthorized party accessed personal information belonging to customers. It appears that the incident stemmed from an incident at one of the bank’s third-party vendors and Ally Bank followed up with the vendor to ensure that the matter was investigated. It was confirmed that the confidential information of Ally Bank customers was subject to unauthorized access. Ally Bank reviewed the files to determine which consumers were impacted and what information was compromised. On May 23, 2024, Ally Bank sent out data breach letters to those individuals whose information was affected by the breach.
